Order Entry - Overview
General Information
The Mail Order Manager Order Entry
Screen is one of the most powerful screens in the M.O.M. system. In
one single screen, you can enter, review, and control all of the
information related to a customer's order.
Please Note: Editing orders requires exclusive use. If
someone else is either editing or processing this order, the Title
bar will display a "Read Only" message next to the order number.
You cannot make any changes while this message is displayed. To
gain access to this order, close it and reopen it when the other
user has finished accessing it.
Layout of the Screen
The Order Entry Screen consists of the
following components.
-
Action
Bar Menu - Located at the very top of the screen, the Action
Bar Menu contains the Edit, Order Edits, Item Edits and Help pull down menus.
-
Tool
Bar Menu - Located just under the Action Bar Menu, the Tool
Bar Menu is the set of illustrated buttons providing access to the
most-often used Order and Item edits. The Order Edit buttons are
grouped on the left side of the Order Status display, and the Item
Edit buttons are grouped on the right.
-
Line
Item Grid Area - The grid area is the large "lined" area of
the screen where line items are entered and displayed. See Entering Line Items for instructions on
using the grid. See Line Item Grid Column Definitions for
definitions of the fields and status codes used in the grid. When
reviewing an order, click the headers above the line item grid to
change how the items are listed.
-
Information Tabs - At the bottom of the
screen, are the five information tab screens. During order entry,
information is entered in these screens. During order review, each
of the tabs displays information related to a specific part of the
order.
