This report lists profit figures for each stock item. This lets
you see how each product is doing.

Field definitions for the Profit by Product Report
Stock Number - The stock
code for the product being reported.
Description - The product description for the stock
code.
Units Sold - Net/total number of items sold after returns
are subtracted.
Retail Price - The current retail selling price level. If
the report is sorted and broken-out by product selling price, each
price/discount level at which the product is sold is also
shown.
Dsct. - The discount (if any) applied to the selling price
level.
Gross Sales - The total of the selling prices for the
product. This does not include shipping or tax.
Gross Profit - This figure is derived from Gross Sales minus
the cost of goods sold.
Comm. - A commission (if any) applied to the sales of the
product.
Profit Margin - This figure is calculated as selling price
minus cost, divided by the selling price. It can also be called the
Percent Markup.
