Customer Type Code MaintenanceMaintain Menu > Customer Information > Customer Type Codes > Type Code "1, 2, 3"General InformationThe Customer Type Code field is divided into three parts. Each part is actually its own field and each part is a different length: Type Code 1 = 1 character, Type Code 2 = 2 characters, Type Code 3 = 4 characters. What you use each part for is entirely up to you and your company's needs. For instance, Type Code 1 might be used to identify different types of customers, for instance, male/female (M/F), wholesale/retail, (W/R) etc. Type Code 2 might be used to identify age of customer. Type Code 3 might be used for birthday, for instance 0121 = January 21st. Type codes can be used to create special selling prices in Stock Maintenance and can also be used to create target mailing lists using the optional List Management Module. Each of the three type codes can be set to accept "on-the-fly" entry in the Customer Information screen. This setting is made in the Maintain Global Parameters - Customer Entry screen.
