Shipping MethodologyIn M.O.M., a shipping method is any particular type of service used to transport packages to your customers. By way of illustration, consider the United Parcel Service. UPS has seven shipping methods: Standard-Ground (Residential), Standard-Ground (Commercial), Three-day Select, Second-Day Air Parcel, Second-Day Air Letter, Next Day Air Parcel, and Next Day Air Letter. So, for UPS there is one carrier, but seven (7) separate shipping methods, each one which must be maintained using Maintain Shipping Methods. To save you time, M.O.M. comes with pre-set shipping methods for the most frequently used carriers. Additional shipping methods can be set up if they are required. You can print a list of all of the codes by selecting the Listing sub-menu on the Reports menu. Select Shipping Methods on the Listing sub-menu to print a list of all the shipping methods in M.O.M..
