Order Entry - Packaging Tab
General Information
This tab screen contains a list of all
packages or boxes for the order. All related information for the
boxes is displayed. In addition, the screen provides access to the
Box
Details screen to view or edit more detailed information for
any box in the list.
The screen is most useful for order
review, showing the packages at the various stages of order
processing as well as shipping tracking information for customer
service.

How to Use the Screen
Viewing All Boxes or Boxes for a Selected Item
To view all the boxes for the order, select the SHOW ALL BOXES
button. This button is the default.
To view the box or boxes for a particular item in the order,
select the SHOW BOXES FOR ITEM button and then select the item in
the order at the top of the screen. The box(es) for the item are
shown at the bottom of the screen.
Viewing or Editing Box Information
Select the box in the list, and press the VIEW/EDIT BOX button
to display the Box Details
screen.
Issuing a UPS Call Tag for a Box
If a customer wants to return an item and you want to have UPS
pick the box up from the customer, you can issue a Call Tag on the
screen.

Select the box in the list to be picked up by UPS, and press the
CALL TAG ITEM button.

If the box originally contained more than just the item(s) being
returned, change the weight of the box accordingly. Follow the
procedure above for Viewing or
Editing Box Information to change the weight.
Note: Shipping charges
for Call Tags are always charged to the customer regardless of how
customer shipping charges are setup for the method of shipment.
Tracing a UPS Shipment
To use this feature, you must have the Automatic Shipping
Calculations Module installed.

Select the package in the list and press the TRACE PACKAGE
button.

If you are using the UPS OnLine Compatible Interface (see
UPS Shipping System
Interface) and are at the "commissioned" workstation, the
workstation modem dials UPS directly and displays the results on
your screen.

If you are at any other workstation or are not using the UPS
OnLine Compatible Interface, your web browser is opened and the
package tracking number is entered automatically on the UPS web
site. Follow the instructions on the UPS web site to complete the
trace.
Modifying Boxes and Box Contents
To add/remove additional boxes for an order and/or change the
contents of individual boxes, select the MODIFY PACKAGING button to
display the Modify
Packaging pop-up screen.
Recalling a Voided Box
This button will appear if there is a voided box in the list in
the packaging tab.
Select the RECALL BOX button to recall
the box & remove the status of voided.
When
recalling a box, it is recommended that you combine the recalled
box with the box that was created when it was voided.
Column Definitions for Packaging Tab
BOX ID - the system assigned identification number for the
box.
QTY - the number of items in the box.
BOX - the number of the box in the shipment. For example: 1 of 3
means that it was the first box of 3 in a shipment.
STATUS - the most recent stage of order processing for the
box.

Not Ready - a back order or hold date prevents the box from
being packed.

Ready to Pack - the box is ready to pack in order
processing.

Packed, Ready to Ship - the box has been packed and labeled in
order processing

Shipped on - the box has been shipped on the date displayed.
INV - the invoice part on which the box contents were
billed.
VIA - the shipping method.
TO - the shipping address for the box.
WAREHOUSE - the warehouse from which the box is shipped. This
column only displays if multiple warehouses have been established
with the Advanced Warehouse
Module.
TRACKING # - the carrier tracking number for the box.
WEIGHT - the weight of the box.
CUSTOMER CHARGE - the shipping charges to the customer for the
item and/or box.
COD$ - if the box is being shipped COD, the amount to be
collected by the carrier.
