Address Correction and Validation Module (ACVM)
General
Information
The optional Address Correction and Validation Module allows you
to verify customer addresses directly through MOM.
This
module utilizes a database of addresses directly from United States
Postal Service ensuring the most accurate address data
available.
In the customer record, a Verify Address button is present. When this
module is installed, this button will compare the address in the
record to the addresses in the database
and
it will:
-
Verify that the street name exists and is spelled correctly
-
Verify that building number falls within the range of numbers
for that street
-
List possible address matches based on spelling.
-
If the building has multiple apartments, it will give you a
range of unit or apartment numbers.
-
Adds ZIP +4 to the address.
Once the Record is verified you have the option of viewing the
verified address, if Vanity Address is selected.
Validated Addresses expire 3 months from the date of the
Validation CD delivery, to ensure that you have the most up to date
information for that customer. When viewing a customer, you will
see the expiration date, the User ID that validated the address,
and the date the address was validated.
Please Note: Changing
the system clock date of any workstation to a date that exceeds the
expiration date, will cause the entire system to expire. You must
then reset the date and reinstall the USPS data to correct
this.
The ACVM Module also allows you validate addresses from Order
and Customer Imports. You can also validate the addresses for your
entire customer database, or use the List Management Module to
validate addresses based on a custom list.
