Warehouse Preferences
This section of the screen is only available if the Advanced
Warehouse Module is installed with your M.O.M. system. They
enable you to control what warehouse to use to fill customer orders
for the item.
Select one the two options.
-
Use warehouse closest to customer - to use the warehouse with
the closest geographic location.
-
Always use warehouse - use the pull-down menu to select a
specific warehouse to use for fulfillment of the product.
Optionally, select USE AS AN ALTERNATE WAREHOUSE IF PRODUCT IS
AVAILABLE ELSEWHERE
to use another warehouse if the item
is out of stock in the preferred warehouse.
Bin Preference
A bin is a location for an item in a warehouse. You can have
multiple bins for an item if required, and inventory can be moved
from bin to bin using the Adjust Inventory function. You can also
establish automatic bin transfers. All of this information about a
bin is maintained in the Edit
Bin screen.
To edit or delete an existing bin for the item, select the Bin
Number using the pull-down menu and press the EDIT button to
display the Edit Bin screen.
To set up a new bin for the item, select "Add a New Bin Location"
using the Bin Number pull-down menu, and press the ADD button to
display the Edit Bin screen.
Note: To force all of customer order's
line item to be pulled from one bin, check the box Back order item if it cannot fill completely
from a single bin. This is important for companies selling
items like fabric that must all be one dye or color lot for each
line item. For these types of companies, each dye or color lot
should be given a dedicated bin.
Shared
Inventory Module Users: Inventory from other companies
will appear as separate bins for your stock item as long as the
stock number entered for this item matches the stock number in your
other company.
G/L Department
M.O.M. enables you to define
sub-accounts (departments) for individual products or groups of
products for three different accounts.
Revenue
Return Account
Cost of Goods (COGS) Account
Departments for these accounts are
created using the G/L Interface function. By creating
departments for each of your major product groups, for all/any of
these accounts, you can post sales to your external G/L software by
product or product group.
