Stock Maintenance - SiteLINK
General Information
This screen tab contains all of the information related to the
product as you sell it on the Web using Dydacomp's SiteLINK Web Commerce System. The
information in this screen is used to automatically generate a
store product page for the stock item using the SiteLINK 5.4 Store Publisher screen.

How to Use the Screen

Check the box PRODUCT AVAILABLE ON THE
INTERNET to include the product in your SiteLINK store. Leave the
box empty and the product will not be available in your store.

Complete the information on each of the
four sub-tabs.

Click the Publish button to publish the
information for this specific Item to your SiteLINK store.
Description Tab
PRODUCT TITLE
Note: This text
will also be used for the image ALT tags and the META title for the
Product Detail Page on SiteLINK.
META TAG PRODUCT TITLE
Enter descriptive keywords about your product in this field.
This will aid the overall Search Engine Optimization (SEO) of your
site by making it easier for your product information to be
catalogued by the search engine providers. For more information
click here.
SHORT DESCRIPTION
Enter a short description to be used in your store on the
product listing pages and/or product specials page.
Note: This field cannot
contain any HTML if using Google Base.
FULL DESCRIPTION
AVAILABILITY
Enter a short message regarding the availability of this
product. Commonly used to describe the number of days a product
takes to ship.
Departments Tab
This tab enables you to select the departments and
sub-departments in which the product is to be included. A product
can be included in as many departments as you want.
Note: Departments and
sub-departments are created in the Maintain Store Departments function.
Selling Tools Tab
This tab provides additional "selling" options for the item.
UP-SELL PRODUCT - An Up-Sell Product is a product offered as a
"substitute" or better quality item than the item selected by your
store customer. For instance, if a customer selects a silver
necklace, you can try to sell them a gold one instead. If you want
to offer an up-sell product for the item, enter the stock code in
the Up-Sell Product field or press the F2 key to look it up.
UP-SELL MESSAGE - Enter a corresponding sales message for the
up-sell product. The up-sell product and message will be
automatically suggested to the customer on the "Basket" page of
your store.
CROSS-SELL PRODUCT - A Cross-Sell Product is a product offered
"in addition" to the item selected by your store customer. For
instance, if a customer selects a gold necklace, you can try to
sell them a matching set of earrings. If you want to offer a
cross-sell product for the item, enter the stock code in the
Cross-Sell Product field or press the F2 key to look it up.
CROSS-SELL MESSAGE - Enter a corresponding sales message for the
cross-sell product in the Cross-Sell Message field. The cross-sell
product and message will be automatically suggested to the customer
on the "Basket" page of your store.
COMPARATIVE SELLING PRICE - Enter a price to be "shown" to your
customers which represents your competition's price. If the
customer selects an item with a comparative price, a "You Saved X$"
running total is displayed every time they look in their basket and
add another item.
CUSTOM INFORMATION FOR PRODUCT - Check this box and SiteLINK
prompts the on-line shopper for additional information when the
product is added to the shopping basket. Enter the PROMPT FOR
CUSTOM INFORMATION as you want it to be displayed to the customer
for this custom information.
KEYWORD LIST FOR PRODUCT SEARCH - Optionally, enter some
additional words that a customer can use to search for the product.
For instance, if you sell books, you might enter author's name,
publisher, ISBN number, etc.
Note: This
information will also be used for the META keywords on SiteLINK.
Separate each word or word phrase with
commas.
Images Tab
This tab lets you define the item's image files for use by
SiteLINK in your store. File type must be GIF or JPG. Select the
VIEW
button next to each image path to
preview the image in the window.
FULL IMAGE - Use the SELECT button to specify the file name and
path for the image file to be used in the product display page.
THUMBNAIL IMAGE - Use the SELECT button to specify the file name
and path for the image to be used in the product listing and
"specials" page. If a thumbnail image is not specified, the full
image is used a default.
Note: A thumbnail image
is typically a small file to enable it to be opened and displayed
quickly with other images.
Additional Images -
These images will appear as thumbnails in the SiteLINK Product
Page, the shopper can click on an image and an enlarged version
will display in a separate screen.
Google Base Tab -
Publish to
Google Base, includes both Google and Froogle.
BRAND - The Brand Name of the product.
CONDITION - Select a pre-defined Product Condition from the drop
down menu.
EXPIRATION DATE - Enter the date that the product listing will
expire on.
Note: If the
expiration date is left blank, Froogle and Google Base will expire
the listing after 30 days from last date the item was
published.
PRODUCT TYPE - Enter the type of product you are listing. See
the Google Product Type list for examples.
GOOGLE BASE DESCRIPTION - Check this radio button to use the
extended description of the product set up on the Extended Info screen tab. Check the
radio button next to the blank box to write a separate full
description for the product to send to Google Base.
Note: This field cannot
contain any HTML. SiteLINK will also use this description for a
META description on the Product Detail Page.
