QuotationsGeneral InformationThis screen enables you to save a new
order as a quotation or turn a existing quotation into an actual
order. This screen is accessed from the Order Edits menu on the
order tool bar and/or the How to Use the ScreenTo Save a New Order as a QuotationOrders that are saved as quotations do not effect inventory quantities. Quotations can be looked up using the Order Number, and in addition, a special "Quotation" status can be used in the Order Status report to make a list of quotations for inquiry purposes. To save an order as a quotation, the order cannot have any payments applied against it nor can it have any shipped items on it. Any/all information normally associated with an order can be entered in the quotation, including the items, shipping method, payment method, etc.
Note: As an alternative to printing
copies of quotations as in Step 2 above, you can also use the key
word %%QUOTE in a customer notice to list the entire contents of a
customer's quotation. This notice can be selected and sent using
the
To Change a Quotation Into an OrderOnce a quotation has been created, it can be changed into an order at any time.
