Cross-Sell, Up-Sell, Substitute, Promotional Items - Prompt

Information
Based on
the parameters defined in Cross-Sell,
Up-Sell, Substitute, promotional Items - Setup, this order
entry prompt provides an alternate choice for the customer for the
stock item entered. The choice may be any one four types.

Substitute
Item - an alternative item that is suggested whenever the item
entered is unavailable.

Up-Sell
Item - an alternative item that is suggested because it is "better"
than the item entered.

Cross-Sell
Item - one or more items that are suggested because they are
"related" to the item entered as accessories or extra items.

Promotional Item - an item that is free or specially discounted
based on the purchase of the item(s).
How to
Use the Screen

Note if
the suggestion is a cross-sell, up-sell, substitute or promotional
by looking at the title bar of the pop-up screen.

Note the
recommendation for the cross-sell, up-sell, substitute or
promotional.
The UNITS AVAILABLE and OTHER STOCK
INFORMATION for the recommended item is also displayed.
Note: Bins that are
marked as "Do Not Sell" will not be included in the UNITS
AVAILABLE.

Note the
REASON. This is either "Suggestion Only" or "Required
Substitution."

Optionally, if the order is a telephone order, read the OPERATORS
SCRIPT to the customer if a script is provided.

If the
Reason is "Suggestion Only", select the ACCEPT or DECLINE button
based on the customer's decision. If the Reason is "Required
Substitution," only the ACCEPT button is available.

If you
select ACCEPT, the alternative item is automatically entered in the
order either in place (substitute or up-sell) or in addition
(cross-sell) to the original item.
Note: Depending upon
product set up, there can be a series of up-sells or cross-sells,
where after the first alternative is accepted, another up-sell or
cross-sell message is displayed, and another after that, etc.
